Till date, Xiaomi haven’t launched any of their smartphone with MediaTek processor. But this might not be the scene after the launch of a new smartphone code named Xiaomi Cereus. Xiaomi Cereus is expected to get powered by a MT6765 SoC as seen on the leaks of Geekbench. It is expected that Cereus is the code name of Redmi 5X.

This smartphone from Xiaomi was benchmarked a few days ago. It runs Android 8.1 Oreo and has 3GB of RAM. Powering it is a MediaTek MT6765, an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz.

Few days back, a Geekbench test showed that the chipset has successfully achieved the clock speed of 2.3GHz. As per some of the rumours MediaTek MT6765 is built on 12nm technology which means it will have better efficiency and performance.
